Animal Ecology (Prof. Dr. Christian Laforsch)
The Chair of Animal Ecology I consists of the working group of Chair holder Prof. Dr. Christian Laforsch (Animal Ecology) and Prof. Dr. Heike Feldhaar (Population Ecology). The research of both working groups focuses on the ecology of aquatic and terrestrial organisms and their interactions with the environment.

The research of the Laforsch group revolves around the adaptation of aquatic and terrestrial organisms to biotic and abiotic environmental factors, phenotypic plasticity and multiple stressors. Marine and limnic (model) organisms such as water fleas and more are studied.
